I am quite fond of Aquilegia … otherwise known as Columbine or Granny Bonnets. There are many of them round the village, although now they are fading as they’ve been out a while.
This is a delicate light pink one I saw round the village at the end of May. It’s probably my favourite shot of an Aquilegia flower as yet.
This one was being enjoyed by a bumblebee – I took several shots, and I especially like this one as you can see his big tongue sticking out.
This is an Aquilegia flower we saw at Cae Hir at the weekend – I’ve not seen one quite so dark as this before, and two-tone too. It was hard to capture in the wind.
