Frilly Lichen

We went for a rather cold walk up at Bwlch Nant yr Arian today. This is a woodland nature reserve a few miles away where they regularly feed Red Kites. We wanted to see what it was like when they feed the Kites and see how well Bruce’s 300mm zoom lens would do. I had a less useful lens on my camera, and though I got a few shots of the Red Kites, my macro shots of lichen were much better! So here is some lovely frilly lichen from the trees around the lake at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. You’ll be able to see some lovely Red Kite shots on Bruce’s blog when he’s finished sorting through them 🙂
